Francis Stevens George has in the past 20 years, been a serial entrepreneur, having started 6 of his own companies [e-trade Africa, West African Doctors Network, Mednews, Sabi Learning, Innovation Africa, F&F Solar].In addition to his own startups, he has been part of the start-up team of 2 companies -Grunderneshus, and Nomad Media; Consultant/Manager for 4 early stage companies -Fronter, Moota Telecom, Bright Products and Travelgate.In December 2016, he established Innovation SL as an Entrepreneurship Support Organisation with the fundamental purpose of enabling an entrepreneurial ecosystem . He was appointed the Managing Director the Global Entrepreneurship Network Sierra Leone (GEN SL). GEN SL is an affiliate if the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN Global). Francis heads the Freetown Pitch Night and is the Global Entrepreneurship Week host for Sierra Leone. Francis started his career with Norsk Hydro, the Norwegian Oil and Gas giant. He served as Market Analyst and Regional Manager in the Fertilizer division of Norsk Hydro (later became Yara). He has consulted for the IFC through the African Management Services Company (AMSCO); the Norwegian Government through the Norad Match Making Program and for the Foundation for Business and Society.
He brings 25+ years of entrepreneurship development, Startups, Mentoring, Innovation Management, E-business strategy. 8 years of experience in International Companies/ Organizations and Multinational teams; Senior management; Managing complex sales processes; Building relationships; Developing & Managing Distributions Channels; Leveraging technology in and outside organizations.

Having owned, consulted or worked for enterprises ranging from mobile payments operators to miners and agri-businesses, Sheka has amassed considerable experience of Sierra Leone’s business landscape. As initiator of several start-ups he has engaged in business planning, fund-raising, staff recruitment and training, marketing and sales – and experienced both success and failure.
Sheka is a committee member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone and is Country Director for the Business Council for Africa, helping UK businesses build relations in sub-Saharan Africa. With a background in marketing he has advised businesses on stakeholder relations and engagements and currently provides business consultancy services, with a particular emphasis on SMEs.
In a non-commercial capacity he assists several NGOs and bodies engaged in rural and social development, and is a regular participant in forums focusing on Sierra Leone’s economic development. Sheka is Executive Director of ReGrow West Africa, a public private partnership between USAID and Chevron, helping to develop and make more resilient Sierra Leone’s private sector, and Chairman of the Global Entrepreneurship Network Sierra Leone.

Director of Kamtech Ltd, Gemco Trading Ltd and Reset Ltd that catered for International NGO’s urgent requirements and supplies during the 11year civil war in Sierra Leone.
In search for newer challenges, he moved to Malaysia in 2008 to head a CLEAR Sdn in a Landfill Mining Project and part of Top Management Team in Recycle Energy, a Materials Recovery Facility and Waste to Energy Plant.
He returned to home in 2016 to look after the family business and is currently Director at InnovationsAxis , and Director of Premier Logistics & Supplies Ltd and Managing Director of Premier Enviro Solutions Ltd.
